I.Q= (Mental Age/Chronological Age) * 100 Example: A five year old child with a mental age of six will have an I.Q of 120 I.Q=6/5 * 100 = 120 I.Q indicates the rate of mental growth of a child. It expresses the size of yearly increments that are made to a child's mental level. So, it may be regarded as an index of intelligence. However, children with the same I.Q may differ in M.A and C.A.
